Na Seachta Scrinta (Seven Shrines)

Sculpture In Woodland, Devil's Glen, Co. Wicklow, Ireland

Douglas fir, sitka spruce, maple, metal hardware. 10' x 4' x 1.4'

The hanging maple section was a gift from S. Gauthier, a descendant of Sarah Brady, a young Irish girl from Co. Monaghan who migrated to Canada in 1847. Her parents, Joseph and Attilla Carson Brady died en route and are buried at Grosse Ile, Quebec in the cemetary of the National Historic Site of Grosse Ile and the Irish Memorial. Sarah Brady settled in Montreal Quebec; her daughter Elizabeth (Lizzy) married and had a large family with many descendants who live in Quebec today.
